oil filter HELP!

So I went to the local parts store to get a k&n oil filter and when I took the old one off the car... I noticed that the k&n is smaller... But when I Google the one for my model, seems the parts store gave me the right one... Maybe the previous owner changes the housing... Ned your help to find the correct oil filter.....

The one the parts store gave me is the k&n HP-1010 (taller and thinner)

The one that was on the car was the verto VT4459 (shorter and wider)

I had a similar issue and switched to a 92-95 3000gt oil filter it is shorter and wider.

K&N HP-1010 is the correct part # for a 2g , The VT4459 is a 3000gt filter.

Yeah, I noticed that they both fit on the car, so I ended up using the HP1010.. was too lazy to go back and get the bigger one (3000gt) .. Thanks for the help guys..
