Adliya,
As some of you might know, this thing has taken forever for me to complete. well I finally started the car today and i couldnt be any happier!!!!:D

The whole motor is rebuilt but completely stock, 7.8 comp on a stock 14b. no more racing for meOMG Other than ARP head studs and metal head gasket though.

this is the first time I have done anything this hard, I have never removed or installed a motor in my life. All I had was basic experience and common sense and of course with the help of you guys its finally done. The amount of tools that I had when I started and now have easily doubled.

At first it wouldnt crank, a search on the forum helped me find out that it might be the ground and sure it was. then the car cranked but wouldnt start, surprisingly it was the firing order. apparently its because of the JDM coil pack and the way it was wired, this took a long time to figure out. So I let it crank until the oil pressure light went and it sure did after a few cranks, that was the first relief. then it started and my smile was bigger then my face, I couldnt believe I would be able to actually finish it!!!!

Everything until now seems to be okay. I let it idle for 15min but I then turned it off, its late at night and I dont want to wake up my nieghbors. The lifter tick is still their(3rd revision), and its too early to say that everything is 100% okay. Untill now, no wierd noises or something out of the ordinary. Tommorrow I am gonna let it idle for a couple of hours and will see then.

I'd like to thank all the forum members who helped, couldnt have done this without this forum.

:D :D :D

Ill keep you guys updated.

Thanks fellas.

I havent taken any pictures in the process. But the car is still on the stands and Ill take a pic of the oil filter housing, i think it will help a few people who do this swap to know were to put the sensors, I know it took me a while to figure it out.

Ill take a couple more of the engine bay too.

Yeah, it's a real bi*** of a job, eh?

I hope you removed the balance shafts while it was out!

Welcome to the family.

here is one of the J-pipe from RRE that I had to modify to make it work with the VP piping. you can see the welding right at the flange, I had to turn it out a little. It was hitting the front motor mount.

this one shows the intake mani. I had to swap the plugs because the car wouldnt start(scared the crap out of me) but they are organized now. the two ports on the intake mani, one leads to the mitsu pressure sensor and the other to the AVC-R pressure sensor.

okay this one, I had trouble with so it might help some of you folks. This is for anybody who is using the External oil cooler filter housing and doesnt know were to mount the sensors.

The top pressure sensor fits fine, But the pressure light switch doesnt. So you need a fitting that goes from 1/8 to 3/8s i think not to sure on the numbers. anyways I couldnt find any, so a machine shop did one from scratch for me.

final pic. VP race front mount intercooler. notice the top two brackets wouldnt reach the wholes, go go VP. I tried every possible thing, had to fab some brackets to make it work. also the 3inch t-bolt clamps were a bit too big, I can turn the coupler with the clamp completely tightened.

anyways, got everything fixed and all is good :D

I like that oil cooler. Is it a Greddy? I've been thinking about picking one of those up down the line...

Also: as far as the oil pressure gauge goes, I got sick of trying to fit mine to the stock housing, so I threw on a Greddy Peak/Hold/Warning gauge.

Yeah, it cost a bit more (okay, okay, a LOT more), but at least I can always see it now, and get some actual numbers. I've gotten my oil pressure over 8 bar! That's about over 116 psi of oil pressure for you american measurement folks. Daaag, never knew it got that high! ;]

yes its the greddy oil cooler. it should look much better, but I sprayed it with carb cleaner to remove all the paint, didnt work too well. wanted it to look silver to match the body.

its the 13row unit and comes with a thermo housing that bolts to were the oilfilter does and comes with a different thread to bolt the filter on, its made for the 2g. but, I removed the fittings from thermo housing and rethreaded this filter housing to make them fit and it worked nicely. one of the earl braided lines didnt fit, I had to change it around since its located different now after the swap. So i used some high pressure high heat hose at the moment, untill I get the proper fitting to make the original braided line work.

I didnt find the sensors that difficult to install. I mean one installed without any modifications and all you need is one fitting to make the light switch sensor work. its just that nobody has explained the whole process in detial, thanks to the yahoo board i learned how to do it.

DAMN Kingdom that thing is looking nice. I am finally back in the states. God I didn't wanna leave Dubai!!!!!!! Wish when I was in Bahrain I could've gotten to see the car. Oh well. Also I went to that Concept tuning down by the City Center, man GORGOUS place. Anyways back to your car. Everything look GREAT and I hope she runs good for you. Later.
