12's on 14b what do i need ?

hi, what els would i need to hit 12's on the 14b turbo, the best so far i got was 13.88 on pump gass, and i'm getting full 3inch exhaust what els would i need ? thanks, current mods are listed bellow,

i would say injectors, safc, fmic, and maybe a pocket logger or something to help you tune (easier said than done though)...that and a lot of practice maybe enough to land you in the high 12's...
 
get something to tune that baby and slap in some good race gas and that should do it. There was a girl from MN DSM that put her car into the 12s on thw 14b with close to the same set up... just tuned it and gave it a good drink of C16
 
A Local runs 12's on his FWD 2g with a T25.

Fully gutted car (no interrior at ALL, no climate controls, no stereo, most of the dash is gone, and manual steering) with a 100 shot.

Oh yeah, he has slicks

I dont understand this tuning thing..can some explain it to me? You say get a pocket logger so you can tune..Right so i am assuming the pocketlogger tells you what the car is doing? how? What does it actually say? How do you know what needs to be tuned? an Example would be awesome..Thanks.
 
Hey rob Im assuming you know the guy or you were at the competition @speedworld the other week. I was talking with him and he said he only runs a 70 shot. I was thinking about that when he told me cause the rest of the car is stock, really. Except for intake and exhaust, and he was netting mid 12's. I figured he had a little bigger shot
 
ok, thanks for the advice i'll see what i get with the full exhaust, and then i'll go from there :D
 
i say u can pull the car into the 12's by porting your 14b, cranking up the boost to 22-ish with a crushed 1g bov, port the o2 ad exh. manifold, and turbo, and there you go, oh yeah, along with at least a 190 fuel pump. a girl here went 12.9 with just that oh yeah, and a 2.5 inch turboback with a home depot intake pipe. there's your 12s, i know i might follow the same route...oh yeah, you also gotta pull like a 1.7 60'
 
My friend's 93 GSX with a Centerforce clutch, 3 inch exhaust, fuel pump and K&N, 17 pounds of boost went 12.80 at 104.59. You really don't need too much to get 12's in an AWD. Good driving, and a nice clutch. Good luck.

Was that done on a full interrior? What were ambient temps, and what kind of elevation.


I know that would not of been possible at my elevation (3,300' but the air density typically adjusts it to 4500' or worse) in our "high" nightly temps.
 
It was done basically at sea level, down here in South Florida, about 70 degrees out. Fully loaded, sunroof, leather interior. It's not all that uncommon. My Talon which is fwd, with the same mods, went 13.6 at 105mph.

12s on a 14b isnt that hard, even on a 2g :D With stock SMIC, injectors, pump, and all 2g head and intake parts, I ran 12.83 at 106, full weight. I have a gotten a lot more parts since then, and only reduced that to a 12.7, but hit 109. On pump gas, I ran 103, which has goten me a 12.9 before. So even on pump I could theoretically have hit 12s :)
 
There is a guy (jay hass) on some other forums who runs mid 12's for $700.00 and some weight removal. I am not trying to chase people to another site but we all have the same car and should try to help each other out so here goes. NEFORUMS.NET DSMTALK He goes to both forums and seems to spend equal time at each site. Like I said, not trying to get people to stop visiting this forum just trying to help out. I found this site listed at one of those other sites and I am greatful. This site seems to have a little more hard core DSM stuff than TALK.
 
I'm not saying that 12's on a 14b is purely impossible. I'm saying that at my elevation and high temps (110+ in summer durring the day... 100 at night durring the summer).... it is impossible for someone out here to run 12's on a 14b w/o nitrous.


Air density is your friend.

What you are looking at is the reading of every sensor. Basicaly you tune what you have to keep the car in specs. like boost psi, fule, air. ect
and another thing you could try is alchohol/water injection to get a more dense charge. it will help cool your air to around 35-60 deg F. and it will also save your engine from detonation. Running high boost from a 14B make a ton of heat.

Did anyone else notice all of the vaguery and misinformation in this post? I find it hard to believe anyone with this level of knowledge of the pocketlogger and water injection would have a 10 second car. Its a shame what people will do to look cool, but far be it from me to start trouble here....

I know i dont know alot about the pocket logger but someone had to reply to his question. I just gave the info that i knew about it. But since I was misinforming why dont you inform us instead of just makining it aperent that i didnt know what i was talking about. also what did i say that wasnt true about water injection. Im not startin any trouble but if your gona crap on me ya better wipe to.
 
I hope im already capable of running high maybe mid 12's on pump gas. You can look at my MODS and judge.. and.. im also getting a 255 fuel pump to run 18psi on 93oct =)
