hey greyforestgst .... where did you buy the propane tank...I have been looking but haven't been able to find one.

my kit has been collecting dust in my garage .. I wanna put it to work one day.

its a 15 pound i got from some propane specialty store
they called em 'pancake tanks'

home depot/lowes doesnt have em, and the regular tanks are too tall. the 15 pound is a nice fit, esp. with the bolts i put in

what are the stats on running propaine?

talonted, i think he's askin what kinda gains do you get, and like how it effects your car compared to the 'traditional' nitrous. is it more dangerous than nawwz?

i heard some kids in my car class talking about how instead of spraying NOS, diesels sprayed propane...wasnt sure if they were just talkin crap or not...*shrug*

HEY greyforest, LOL dude, your collant level is low. Check your light man, its the coolant; level you need more. And diesles can spray naws and propane, btu go for propane for some reason. I guess cus its better cus there is no chance you can ever go to lean on a diesle. I dunno. I have actaully seen a diesle truck run nawws and propane at teh same time wtih like 455 horsepower to the wheels. Nice set-up.

MEEF!! long time big daddy....

well propane and nitrous are very different.

N2O is an oxidizer. Basically what is, is an knock supressant and an artificial way of introducing more oxygen into the engine. With more oxygen you can add more fuel and the final ingredeint of a spark you get more power.

propane is a fuel. It too supresses knock because of its temp. its an added fuel source, and it has the added benefit of a higher octane level

as far as for your application I have no what good it cando if any it could do for an N/A car.

the car isnt on, i just turned the key to on so i could flip on the switch.

propane is nothing like nawz. nawz is an oxidizer, whereas propane is a fuel (a gaseous fuel at 110 octane).
i can goose the throttle through 3rd pushing 18psi now. no fuel cut! if it starts injecting before 5000rpms or so i shoot flames though.

i really do like the switch i wired up, because i would not want to use it in 1st or 2nd gear.

Where did you get the kit for this? What sort of risks do you have running propane?

I know a guy who owns a Diesel Performance Shop. His truck is pushing almost 700HP at the rear wheels, and thats on stock internals. He is pushing really high boost, running propane, and some other stuff like ECU upgrade and such.

For a promotional thing, they ran his HUGE Cummins Diesel Dodge extended cab track against a Dodge Viper in a 1/4 mile run, and he wasted it big time.

And for those of you that don't know, Propane on our cars allows us to run higher boost with virtually no knock at all. Propane is like 140 octane, get a good mixture of propane and gasoline along with some charged air, and your running good times.

the kit we have is from Import performance online.

the risks from what I understand is the same as N2O if you take care of it it will take care of you.

hey greyforest where did you get it? I have been having no luck finding a tank :(

Just curious if you got all this from "Strickland Propane"?

barbeques galore is where the pancake tank was.

this isnt really like n2o...you can inject a crapload and just backfire, instead of melting ####. propane makes things richer, n2o leaner.

damn Im going to look into this, Its very intresting . I cant believe it took me this long to see it? Where have I been?

If you had bulit internals running propane w/nitrous is accually safer then n20 itself because you wont go crazy lean and melt pistons plus when you mix the two you get hella power.:D

Don't you mean Import Power Online?

The Kits are awsome, $300 shipped and they come with everything needed except the tank and come with idiot proof install instructions. Chris (the owner) is a really cool guy!

I found a tank at Home Depot for $25 (the little 2 gallon) at the back of the store behind all the BBQ stuff.

L2RTSiAWD has a IPO kit we have yet to install. :D

propane is like water injection, it yields no power gains in itself
what you can do is turn the boost up, run higher timing curves, lower egt's thats where the power comes from.
not from just injecting its

propane has a rating of 116/117 octane

i went with water injection on mine
maybe some giggle juice later this month
