Does anyone have this yet? Do you think it's worth installing the new unit or the old unit??? (new = SAFC II, old = current SAFC)

The new SAFC has not been officially released yet here in the States.

I get it, since i grabbed one of the first 5 SAFC II that this store had in japan.

no, i actually went to japan in dec. to visit my family. and picked one up from a store which just received their first 5 units. i got it for about $300.

Install it already...

Well if you read the pricetag on it it says 311US$ for the new S-AFCII and that wouldnt be too much for it I guess.Myabe its the new one I should set out for sinceit seems alot more options is available and you can tune the car even more precise than with the "old" S-AFC.

i like it so far... got it installed at PSI on Friday... i cannot really tune my car with it until i get injectors and EGT gauge... it's much smaller than the old unit and you can choose 12 rpm's to tune the a/f with... those are the things i know so far that i think are cool...

I noticed it has a knock count. Can you actually see knock with your 2G on this new S-AFC?

There is a mode for the knock sensor, count, etc... but there was no wire to connect to on the ecu, so the wire from SAFC II for the knock count is just hanging somewhere around my ecu... i'll keep posting the updates tho...

Ever see the knock count happening in the future?

Actually, this past weekend, we found out that it does NOT work for the 2g's. It actually says so in the wiring diagram. The manual does not say much about how the knock sensor part work as well.

The manual..does any one have it in English to spare a copy for me? I ordered mine from Japan and will probably be getting a japanese manual..wouldl ike a english one if possible..so can anyone help a fellow DSMer out here?

They're not out in English as far as i know... but you can look at the installation steps at www.prostreetonline.com

Well I can wiat a while...The SAFC II will arrive here in a week from now..will be fun to see how it works looks Just dont wannahook it up til I have all the info I ned to tune it as I should..wellwell

Well the S-AFC is on its way now...got a mail from the dealer in Japan saying its in the shipping now so..cant wait to get it..will prolly be one of the first in Europe for sure to have this device

Well EDO Performance sells it on their website now.....so it should be commin with a english manual..or am I wrong here?
