Does anyone out there have problems with the passive belt system? In hot weather, when I turn the key, the shoulder belt glitches, twitches, stops, starts, and generally screws up, taking several minutes to finally come to rest. Turning the key off.... and it retracts fine every time. Now that cold weather is here, the problem is gone - but it will return in the spring! I figure that it's one of the 'limit' or 'sensor' switches in the mechanism.... or perhaps a relay. All this stuff is mounted behind the panels next to the rear seat, and is difficult to get at. If there is a common part that goes bad, I'd like to know about it so my troubleshooting hunt is the easiest.
Thanks:laugh:

Hey my shoulder belt loves to freak out too. It almost seems like there is an electrical short or something. I wish it was easy to convert to non-automatic belts.

Actually....it is.

Turn the key on , shut the door and go under the hood.
The tiny fuse-box connected to the battery + cable has the belt fuse in it , should be marked.
For those of you with ABS , Its to the left of that fuse.
Its right on the far right side of the little box,for the non-ABS'ers.

Ive converted BOTH of my DSM's to non-auto this way. :)
