Hey all,
I just got back from Central Coast Mitsubishi (Atascadero, Ca) and I was talking to the Service and Sales Managers about having a Mitsubishi meet at their location. They are extremely excited about the idea and want to make it happen. I am in charge of coordinating the meet. For those of you who went to Mitsubishi Owners Day (MOD 2005) know how huge that was and I am looking for the same sort of turn out. Now what I would like from you guys is to possibly give me some ideas as to what you would like to be at this meet.

Please leave me a comment on here and tell me if you are interested in attending and what you would like to see there. I have to come up with a formal proposal to give to the owner of the dealership to make this all happen. I am looking to have this go down sometime in late January to early February. I will be posting more on this as it happens and will be giving other forums a heads up. Any ideas/comments/concerns/resources will be appreciated.

So far the ideas I have are......
1. Meet up at the dealership for lunch/raffles/give aways and hangout.
2. Then go for a cruise through local towns/freeways and end at a nice beach for more time to hangout.

Give me ideas because this can seriously happen, I just need you to be there. I want this thing big guys.

I really admire your enthusiasm but this has been tried several times with no success. Second getting bay area dsmers to get together for anything is a task in itself(trust me I know I set up all the bay meets) but since I am not planning a meet this time count me in. I don't really have any requests other than make it on a saturday and uh free food.

I actually just realized this, I had 2 browsers open. oops! Arizona tuners are welcome too!

=) bigglesworth... we can always do this meet here in los angeles, at glendale mitsubishi.... but i never told any of us...because here its about staging a event for them to gain popularity and street viewers... and all they really care about is money... but if ya really want to do this im down for u. Mod 05 is way different then individually owned dealers =)

id go to every meet if i could... but my car is always broken... but count me in...

haha I guess so, I'll try my hardest to rally, I guess you could call it, the bay area tuners together to get this done with a good turnout.

A North/South meet in LA? Gee, why don't we just have it in Redding? WTF

Cripes, we can't get ten people out to Sears Point.

We were trying to get up an SLO meet a couple of years ago.

That is why it is staying in Atascadero. It is somewhat in the middle. I dont know of anywhere else to take the meet to make it EXACTLY IN THE MIDDLE! I do want more of the Norcal guys to show up to this. I always seem to make the 5 hour drive to the Anaheim meets, so I dont see why the socal guys cant make the 5 hour drive for this one. I am really trying my hardest to get this thing to have a good turnout. I am trying to make a proposal as we speak to get this thing to happen. Any suggestions are still welcome. Also, let me know if your going to go.

Here's how we used to do the Mount Shasta meets in the Datsun Roadster Association:

1. SET A DATE. No futzing, no voting, no "well, I can't make Saturday, but I can make Wednesday, or maybe Tuesday".
2. PLAN IN ADVANCE. No "Hey! Meet in two weeks!" Give people six months to get ready.
3. ORGANIZE.
4. ORGANIZE.
5. ORGANIZE. Have things to do. Nothing extravagant, expensive, illegal or complicated. A good barbeque, or a buffet with some kind of DSM-centered entertainment. Slide shows, workshops, round tables, swap meets, speakers. Keep it reigned-in, and no pissing-off of motel owners and the local cops.

The Roadster meets were run from Canada, and we pulled cars from as far away as Georgia. We'd get from 40 to 80 cars to show up. But it wasn't just a bowl of flakes scattered across the kitchen floor.

so uh what's going on with this meet then?

I should be heading out to the dealership early this week and talking to them about it more. I am going to get my proposal to them and figure out what they can do for us. I am shooting to have the meet sometime in February. I will let you guys now whats going on as soon as i find out more. Any other suggestions is welcome.
