Ok so i have a 98 eclipse gsx.. the problem is that it wont start.. it just keeps cranking nd cranking.. ive checked the fuel pump so its not that.. the thing is that it would turn on, but i just installed a pr fmic, new battery and a new 98 ecu.. ### help im new to the 4g63 game...:rolleyes:
 
Primary components for ignition are fuel, spark and compression. Start with the easiest fix and work your way back. Start with spark plugs. Pull them and make sure they're gaped properly and not corroded or damaged. Next, check the wires for damage. Look into the boot and check for spark as you crank it over. If not, check your battery. If so, it's likely a fuel issue.
If the battery is good, check the coil pack, ignitor, ect. Chances are it's something before that. If spark is all good, move to fuel. When was the last time the fuel filter was replaced? Do you actually have fuel (not being a dick, you'd be surprised how stupid the issue can be)? Any leaks? are your injectors firing? are they clogged or dirty? Are the wires/connectors damaged?
Is the started kicking over? if none of these work, try a compression test. The tool can be rented from Vatozone.

Thanks so much.. But some of my friends are saying it could be the cas.. Could it??
 
It is possible if the CAS is turned 180 degrees that it could cause issues. Has it been removed recently? I would try the simplest possibilities first, but the CAS could be a factor.

So does this mean it started ok before you did those three things?

yes it would.. once i just installed these three parts it wouldnt want to start nomore..

and how can i check the cas??
