Ok, i got my car back today and i drove it home. i havent had it because i blew a head gasket and i had to get a new one put in. i also had them put on a new timing belt, water pump and timing belt tensioner. my exhuast, upper ic pipe, and bov was just put on as well.

so i get the car and drive it home, i put in my dvd player and i go to drive around, i give it some gas and the car wont go past like 25, when it gets to 25 its starts to do something like backfiring, like a groggy sound, like bogging out. what could it be.

check and make sure there is a good seal on the bov, if it is leaking even slightly it will cause your car to buck and jump around, also check and make sure your plugs, wires are good. i would also check and make sure that your fuel injectors are in snugly. im just mentioning these because i have experienced them. let me know if this helps.

im not sure it is you head gasket however what might be happening is if the head was not torqued down right or enough i could imagine that it wouldnt seal.. I would check the obvious first and then consider that. Also the head should be retorqed after 100 miles.

good luck

Not sure if it is your head gasket either.. If it is though make sure that they resurface the head and check the block to see if it needs to be resurfaced also. Ususally when a car blows a headgasket the head should always be resurfaced to make sure it is flat.. Aluminum(spelling?) heads are notorious for warping after blowing a gasket..

I have seen a replaced head gasket go after first run when reaching running temp the head was not resurfaced. I am not saying that this is the problem but if it is make sure that the head is resurfaced when the garage or who ever does the job.:)
