I have a stock 95 TSI and have this problem: when the car is on flat grounds, the temperature gauge stays normal. However, when it's on a steady uphill, the gauge would go above normal. I've seen it go almost 3/4 high. For obvious reasons, I haven't push the car further. My friend put in an aftermarket themostat not too long ago and I think it was after that time, the car started to behave like this. He did say the thermostat he put in has a higher temperature rating than the stock one. Should I have a stock one put in? Any help would be appreciated.
