Shaking!!!

I was cruising regular speeds about 35-40 and i hear a weird noise from the engine and my car starts sputtering, it feels almost as if its about to stall and die and the CEL came on, but instead it just keeps on shaking. I start accelerating and my baby feels like it struggles to get going, but once it does, it runs fine to 40, but i'm real concerned about idle and acceleration...any help is appreciated..thanx

Little more info here would be helpful. Does it shake all the time up until 40mph? Even at idle? Explain exatcly what the "noise" sounded like.

it shakes when i dont accelerate, especially around idle the shake is real noticeable, i've been told it could be a spark plug...i'm thinking its a vacuum leak somewhere...?????

Sounds like a cylinder misfiring. Check the sparks and wires.
