mpg serious problem

ok before everyone throws a big fit let me say i have looked thru the history and cant find an answer to MY problem. My '91 eclipse 1.8 n/t has been sitting for bout 6 months cause of a bad distribitor and ecu. i finally got all that fixed and now my gas milage is severly hurt. I am getting about 11 mpg. The only mod that i have is a hacked air can. Could it be possible that when i reinstalled the distribitor that i got the timing off enough to where it is hurting the fuel milage? Any help would be wonderful. Thanks and it feels good to be back in a dsm.

have you done any maintenance to the car , and if not that would be your best place to start by changing plugs , wires , fuel filter and if your o2 sensor has never been changed that would help your gas mileage alot also

yea, right before the car broke down i changed the plugs, wires, and filters. i am going to change the oil as soon as it stops snowing. i dont think the oil could effect it that much could it?
