I just installed a air intake tube and left the old filter on with the stoopid MAS. without the can... the engine was doing fine with the old rubber intake tube and filter. but now with the new intake , when I try to rev up to like 5000 rpm and try to take off in first for a burn out or a quick start. the engine likes to bahg or choke. the engine light comes on and the engine runs like crap even if you give it gas it runs bad..you also can hear a beeping noise like somthing is wrong.. but if i slow down the rpm it goes back to normal.. does anyone know whats wrong?

I think you will find an unmodified MAS has to be in a moving air stream to calculate fuel air ratio. Hook the air duct back up and see what happens.

I had the same problem doing this, even the weird beeping noise. All I can say is put it back to the was you had it. I know it sounds like a cool idea but it just dont work. Our cars are to strange.

the MAS is still hook up with plenty of air going through it. I found out yesterday when i looked at my connection to the throttle body it has a small leak and does not completely seal. I thought maybe that is the promblem and will try to fix it. would a air and fuel ratio gauge help
?
