I CURRENTLY TRIED INSTALLING A PUSH BUTTON STARTER I BOUGHT THE WIRING DIAGRAM AND ASKED FOR THE WIRES FOR THAT AND I WAS TOLD THE CONSTANT POWER WIRE SOLDER A WIRE FROM THAT AND FASTEN IT TO THE BUTTON AND ATTACH A WIRE FROM THE BUTTON AND GROUND IT SO I DID I PUSHED THE BUTTON AND IT BLEW THE STARTER MOTOR FUSE SO I SWITCHED THE WIRING AROUND THINKING THAT I PUT THE HOT SIDE ON THE GROUND AND VICE VERSA AND TRIED USING THE KEY THIS TIME AND NOTHING HAPPENED IT TURNS TO ACC AND THEY ALL COME ON BUT WONT START I TESTED ALL THE FUSES AND STUFF UNDER THE DASH THERE AND IN THE POWER DISTRIBUTION BOX I TESTED THE STARTER RELAY AND CHECK THE BATTERY WITH THAT BOX WITH JUMPER CABLES AND TOLD ME 12 VOLTS SO THAT ALL CHECKS OUT IDK IF THERE IS SOMETHING ELSE TO CHECK ON THE BATTERY OR NOT BUT WHEN I TURN THE KEY TO START NOTHING HAPPENS AND WHEN IT CLICKS BACK OVER TO ACC IT CLICKS THREE TIMES OR SO UNDER THE HOOD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE, AND ALSO WHEN I PUT THE BATTER ON A BATTERY CHARGER OR STARTER THE LIGHTS DIM WITH THE HUMMING OF THE CHARGER AND MY GAUGE READS 12 WHICH IT USUALLY READS 14 JUST TRYING TO GET ALL THE INFO OUT THERE CAUSE I REALLY NEED HELP PLEASE SOMEBODY TELL ME WHATS GOING ON HERE

sorry about that everyone i reposted up because i was told it would be a good idea to change it and organize it better to draw more people in since my other one wasnt so i did i don't know how to delete the old one if you know how tell me but enough with the crap and all can we just fix my car cause not being able to drive it is annoying

-Did you find out where this 'hot' wire is going to? if it's not to the starter then even if you creat a direct short (ie: start button) the starter still won't turn, I would suggest you remove/retape all the stuff you have install in this project to see if your car will start, read or have some one explain the instruction carefully and start from there. the concept would be tap the wire that goes to the starter before it enter the lock cylinder and bypass the lock cylinder.

That's a great idea..and if all thus fails just simply pop your hood, switch the pos and neg and be AMAZEDOMG

I was told to use the constant wire and the starter wire idk if these are the same as on that web site or not or if anyone thinks these will work or not ........but i need my car to start first so and it will start by pop startin it but not with the key so just a lil update

no no no the button is out of the equation now its not hooked up my car will not start with the key and nothing is cut or was cut

Hmmm, you need to check the start wire coming out of your key switch with a test light or meter. You must have power into the switch and out the start or you have burned out the switch or some component between the battery and the switch.

When you turn the key on you should hear the fuel pump on for a second, when you turn the key to start the pump should be on _ALL_ the time. If this does not happen then check the fuel pump circuit and how it relates to the starter and perhaps you will find why the starter is not turning.

Cheers,
GTM

I can pop start it and idk but i would assume if i can pop start it isn't the fuel pump cause it wouldn't stay running and the constant power wire that i used still has flow through it cause when i touch it to a ground she sparks so im thinking its the starter solenoid if anyone knows or has something to say let me know

I don't know what "pop start" means, key on, push the car and dump the clutch... push start?

If you burned out the ignition switch and the fuel pump does not get power in the crank mode then it won't start. I don't know until you tell me you have power from the ign sw in crank.

Why don't you take the starter selonoid wire off and hook your remote button direct to the starter selonoid. You can also just hook a jumper wire with a female spade lug crimped, the other end you will touch to the battery Pos + term. With the key on and assuming you have fuel, spark, and valve timing it should start.

Cheers,
GTM

yeah exactly same thing pop start push start, i will be working on my car tom and checking the solenoid and testing the starter im sure its one of those if not then i will be updating you all and going from there

Ok on the language.

The first thing you should try is to make up the jumper wire that you can connect to the selonoid terminal and momentary touch the Pos. + bat term. I seriously doubt you did ANY damage to this or any other part of the starter. So rule this out ASAP then get into the viscera of checking the other aspects of why it's not cranking.

Most mechanics just use a pocket screwdriver and short out the + lead at the starter to the solenoid but you have to know exactly where to reach with your eyes closed or you can get some nasty burns if the engine is hot.

Good luck, you are going to need it. Holler if we can help.

Hey i took my starter and solenoid out and had napa test them and the both work great they say so that checks out and i checked the fuses under the dash i checked the stuff in the fuse box under the hood and checked the starter relay so anyone have any idea now or is there other fuses or relays or something somewhere else, and when i turn the key to start the abs light comes on the flickers when i let go of the key and like i sais there is a clicking coming from the drivers side under the hood some where like underneath stuff when i let off the key so please help i hate not being able to drive my car

sounds like you went from constant power, to the switch, then from the switch to ground....like sticking a wrench accross the battery terminals????

am i not understanding something here?

yes i do believe like that it would be like sticking a wrench aross the batter terminals in a sence except when you push the button it was prob like touch them together and the battery i would think all the stuff going on is right there where the button and that wire it prob runs to a bunch of other stuff so idk

Go back and re-read my posts, you spent more time removing the d..n starter than all the things I had said. Don't keep asking for help and have me write it 16 different ways and you go off and do something else.

I told you the car will start IF you hook the new button from a power source and to the starter selonoid. That will make your car run IF every thing you have said is true.

GTM

Also,

IF YOU INSTALL PUSH STARTER BOUGHT WIRING AND DIAGRAM ASKED FOR WIRES AND WAS TOLD CONSTANT WIRE SOLDER A WIRE THEN LOOKS LIKE BAD WAY TO DO STARTER WIRING TO POWER YOU NEED TO PUT SWITCH SO GIVES POWER STARTER NOT BYPASS AND SWITCH POWER GROUND

If you can't read that, understand why its hard to help with this.....maybe you should go back and explain more carefully...and maybe use a comma (,) or period (.) once in a while. and no caps. not to be a dick, but otherwise, i don't know how to help you and i had a psu starter in my old esi (course that i did all underdash... and ws told it was unsafe.....although it was just running to the starter relay and i never had a problem...so.)

thanks

ok i was just told that if my ignition was bad that i wouldn't even be able to pop start or push start my car is this true cause this doesn't make sence

This is just impossible. I don't know if you know the difference between a god damn ignition SWITCH and your ignition system.

Who ever is blowing in your ear needs to post where we can all see WTF is goin on rather you playing games.

I'm going to unsub from this thread for I'm wasting my time, no more pm's either this is hopeless.

ok i got my car working again i just hooked the button directly up to the starter and the starter solenoid and everything works my car just don't start when i turn the key to start for whatever reason im guessin cause the ignition switch but i don't know done care im tired of messin with it and i can drive it now so:thumb: but GTM I don't know what the hell is your problem and all and no body made you post your the one that took your time to post on my thread so i have no idea what the hell your bitching about just don't post if its that much trouble i mean damn you took time to post up you bitchin so wow
