cluster gauges not working

ok well when i bought my talon that owner before had one of the big 5" or whatever after market tachs in it, im not much for it when u have a perfectly good one in your instrument panel. well anyways i just got a boost gauge and pillar gauge pod and to mount the pod i needed to remove the big tach so it gave me reason to take it apart and get it off. well i get everything off and then i pull my gauge cluster off, the whole thing as in clear plastic front cover to back circuit board. he had it hooked up using the screws on the back of the circuit board. well i get it out and remove all wires that were connected to the after market tach. well i get this done and put the cluster back into the dash, btw i did not take apart the cluster in anyway just removed it from the dash.well i start the car and i find that the only gauge that works is my speedometer. all other gauges do not move. i tried to do a search but could not find the right keyword to find what i needed. well i was wondering if anybody knew how it was supposed to be connected, if any of the wires on the back needed to be connected to anything. just what i need to do to have my instrument panel working again.


one more question....when i start my car my as i start driving it makes a squeaking sound as i get faster it gets louder and faster. my dad said that he thinks the speedometer needs oil. well if this is it how do i go about this if this is something else what do i need to do to fix it.

sorry for this being so long i just want to make sure i have all the details that i can think of if you need to know something else to help let me know and ill inform you of it.

-Did all the gauges work before you take the panel out? did you plug all the connectors in correctly? where's the noise coming from, the engine compartment or in the cab?

yes they did work before i took them out , could it be possible i blew a fuse or anything? but yes they did, and i also plugged them in right. the noise is inside the cab

-did you scratch/damage or short the tracing on the circuit board when you remote the screw for the big O tach?
-I just look at my manual (91), couldn't find any fuse come off the guage, but it wouldn't hurt to check them out, fuse box are near the hood release and some in the engine compartment too, should test fuse with a meter or a test light instead just look at it.

-Just recheck the schemetic, there's a 10 amps fuse for the guages.
-You should make it a harbit to disconnect the negative terminal on the battery when ever you work on the car.

yea i did unhook it but then i hooked it back up to check something then i forgot to unhook it again like an idiot. so when i put it back in the battery was hooked up

was it a fuse? IF yes can you tell me which one?
