Intercooler piping Caves in when car is running!!! NO BOOST

Alright I jus put in a big 16 turbo, I did no other mods after that at the time and put everything back exactly like it was with the 14b, the only difference is i used 20w oil rather than the normal 10w because my oil pressure has seemed a little low lately, but anyway i go start the car up and it fires up no problem and then after a little while i try to rev it a little but it only revs to like 4k then refuses to go any higher ALSO the intercooler piping wich is the stock rubber piping sucks in like it is being restricted??? Could too heavy of oil be doing this?? Also the 16G does spin freely, it isnt seized.
 
The oil shouldn't have to do anything with it. That new 16G is pulling more air than the 14B. But if the IC pipes are compressing there must either be a restriction or something. Does it only happen after you let off the throttle? If so, you may just have weak rubber piping. Get a nice upper IC pipe (metal). Last, if the engine will only rev to 4K, something is drastically wrong. Check for a blockage. These problems don't happen from a turbo or oil.
 
Naw it only revs to about 4k all the time. And also i Just put 10w30 back in and you were right its the same thing. One thing though that I noticed is the compressor turbine wheel has some minor nicks on it but I dont think that that would cause this big of problem would it? Any other ideas before i go crazy?
 
These symtoms basically point to an I/C pipe leak.

I would check to make sure that all intercooler pipes connections are tight and no air is leaking.

When air leaks out of the I/C pipes the car runs very rich because it is losing air that has been "seen" by the karmen sensor. This would describe why the car won't rev past 4k rpm.

Weak pipes should not cause what you are describing unless you have a hole in one of them or if they collapsed so much that it pinched of the air to the motor. It is however a good idea to replace them.
 
alright well I went out and tried some more things today to find the problem. its not the wastegate i disconnected the actuator and it was really easy to hold closed so i tried reving with it closed and with it open and there was no difference the itercooler piping just got pinched more and more as i revved it. also i disconnected the boost controller from the j pipe nipple and figured that might at least change something because it would be leaking but nope with it wide open the idle didnt even budge. so i dunoo... this sucks
 
Holy shit I am retarted. I painted the J-Pipe before the install and I had stuffed paper towels in it so paint wouldnt build up inside of it. Well guess what I took apart all my piping to install metal piping and I found 2 wads of paper towels in the intercooler piping!!!! Thanks for all your help though guys!!
 
I feel like an idiot too because I left one in when I installed an intercooler on my last car. It still was a hell of alot faster though.
