Buying a 97 GS-T

Ok, i am buying a 97 GST but it has some problems. One the car won't stay cranked and when you start to move it it shuts off and there is no power to anything. (I think it's the battery). And the thing i can't figure out is the CE light is coming on and the car has an erratic idle and is blowing some smoke out of the tail pipe. I need to get this resolved b/f friday or i can't buy it and i will be walking!!! Someone please help....

I really don't have the answers to your questions though, sorry that I couldn't help. All I know is that white smoke = antifreeze and prolly blow headgasket and black smoke = oil.

Well, I am paying about 3k for it, it seems like it's fixable but i won't know until i hook up the pocketlogger. But i wouldn't pay more than 5200 and i don't want anything too modded.

I was under the impression white = oil, black = gas, blueish = blowby.
