Weird question about shifter cables.

If this is the wrong forum I am sorry. I broke a shifter cable and am in the process of replacing them. I have run into 2 problems. The first one is that the cables that i ordered from the dealership for my exact car have only one adjustable cable. (pic attached) The second is that on the actuall lever on the tranny has an extar hole drilled into it. Those who have a 92 AWD 5 speed let me know what to use. The hole or the little knobby thing that seems stock. (pic attached)

ok first question, id have to say thats weird maybe take the cable back and says its not the right one. second looks like somone did the quick shifter mod and didnt like it so put it back to stock hope this helps

I have never heard of the quick shifter mod. Ill have to search on that. Thats the only part number for the cables, I believe. I will have to call and find out.

Click HERE then go to shifter, then scroll all the way down its at the bottom should read "Shifter throw mod"

I don't get posting a "VFAQ" link, it's about the same as saying "Search".

Did your old cable break at the other end, or did someone put in that short shifter mod with a piece of crap grocery-store-hardware bolt, and it broke?

Put the cables on where they were.

I got a new cable a while back, the new ones only have one adjustable linkage because you really don't need to adjust the other one.
