Boost Gauge pegging too high!!!

I drive a 2g tsi. I recently was given a boost guage. I could possibly be broken but at full throtle it pegs at 16 pounds. I have no boost controller or exhaust. The car is bone stock other than the bg. It reads vac at idle at 20.

sounds like your overboosting to me.. If the boost gauge is pegging to high, it usually means you are boosting that high.. esp, if the gauge reads around 20Hg in vacuum...
