Hello,
Well, recently I bought a 1990 Eagle Talon AWD 5 speed from a dealer that was convinced that it had a bad engine. They thought this because it had no oil pressure. I had been looking for one so I got it, knowing that I would probably have to order a replacement engine.
I got around to doing some testing on it last night. I went out and bought a good quality pressure quage and hooked the guage up directly to the sending unit and left the stock guage hooked up to compare. The engine didn't completely warm up, however The aftermarket guage was reading at around 18PSI and it was very responsive when I revved the engine. It went up to around 80PSI. It was snowing outside (I did have a covered tent) so it was pretty chilly, I'll do further testing today with it to get it warmed up properly.
So what do you think is really wrong with the car? Based on the oil pressure, I can't see anything wrong with. I would like to hear your opinions on this.
Thanks, Michael
