97 mits eclipse, manual. On COLD (freezing) starts early in the morning when I wake up, I will hear a chattering sound coming from my car that goes away when the clutch is pressed. The noise comes back when the clutch is let back out, but goes away after the car warms up. It only does it in freezing cold starts. It doesn't do it on warm starts (car already run for a while and restarted), or starts on days that it's not very cold. It ONLY happens when it is freezing cold, and the car has been sitting. Is this a problem or is this a normal occurance and I shouldn't worry about it?

Did you ever find anything out on this? My 90 GSX is doing the same thing...push the pedal in and it goes away. Let it out and I can here this ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-ch constantly. It isnt that loud but it is noticeable if I have the radio off. THanks
