My car has really been acting up lately. Almost every time I put it in reverse I get a grind. I really have to play and baby it not to get the grinding noise going into reverse. Also sometimes going into other gears is a pain and the clutch slips when boost kicks in but all this only happens intermittently. The clutch masters has been in the car for about 3yrs but I just don't want to swap out the clutch and still have this problem. Like I said sometimes I can get it in gear easy, sometimes its a PAIN. Its not crank-walk ( I know, I already had that with the last engine) so I just hope its the clutch. I was going to get the ACT 2600 and trash the old Clutch Masters. If it is the cluch, why is it so intermittent? The clutch pedal feels a little softer too, not a lot but noticeable. First and reverse seem to be the worse gears though. What you guys think? :confused:
 
Man, I've done all that, checked for fluid leaks around the Master CYL, bled the slave CYL. Checked for crank-walk. Its gotta be the clutch or TOB. I'm ordering an ACT 2600 and lightend flywheel from RRE today. I'll never mess with clutch masters again. The clutch was slipping TERRIBLE today. It also explains why I dyno'd at 315.6 but only 203HP was at the wheels at my dyno session! We'll see after the clutch swap what happens.
 
Make sure you get the flywheel balanced if you get it from them. I had one that I got from them that was off by 46 grams on one side. RRE says they are balanaced but I have had mine checked and that 46 grams is quite a huge difference when you talk about rotating mass.
 
46 grams huh. Thats messed up. I'll have mine checked before I install it. I also got new Tranny fork and fulcrum ball.
