weak exhaust.... wtf

Hey guys,

I just installed a new exhaust system on my 90 talon tsi, now all the piping is custom 2.25" and i got a high flow cat connected to a 2 1/2" magnaflow muffler. Here's the problem it sounds stock and and shitty and it was a real piss off. it should be really loud and deep.. any idea's why this is? any help would be greatly appreciated.

One question, was your muffler labeled or described as a "turbo" muffler? If not then you probably got a muffler designed for a N/A car. It will be very quiet. There is a difference in the way turbo mufflers are designed.

first off, 2 1/4 is too small, you're choking your turbo, and won't get any good sound out of a 2 1/4.
second get a straight through muffler. "turbo" style mufflers are only called that because of the way the air flows in a spiral motion through them. they weren't made specifically for turbo cars.
