My Talon is really getting to me.
My Walbro 255 decided t get really loud one day and not hold pressure correctly. So I took it out and slapped in my stock pump.
When I slapped in the stock pump it ran fine then died 10mins later.
I found the IGN fuse blown.
Changed the fuse, rewired the fuel pump with 10ga wire with relay. I did not have a fuse holder on hand so I just connected the rewire to the battery for a few days.
Car was running great for a few days. No problems....37psi@idle w.vacuum hose connected etc.
Last Night I was driving around..car felt fine. Drove about 30mins to denny's
Went into Denny's
Ate
Came out of Denny's, started the car..made a left turn then the Check engine light came on for a sec, then the car died.
I pulled over.
Tried to crank it again and it struggled, but it fired..sounded like it was bogging out and then died..no tapping or knocking noises.
Now the car will not fire.
I can hear the fuel pump turn on when cranking so it's getting power. The fuel pressure goes up to about 30psi when cranking for a while, but drops down pretty quickly to 20psi then about 10 psi after 5mins.
I pulled the timing belt cover and the belt is still on there pretty snug but Im not sure if it skipped a tooth, cant tell.
I pulled the ecu out and looked at it..looks fine.
Could me not having the 30amp inline fuse for the fuel pump have caused this? What could be the problem? I figured if there was a short it would have blown the pump but I still hear the pump whining and Im getting some pressure at the rail.. WTF?
Anybody?
