i am posting this from a message from someone at my school that is having problems with their dsm. i do not know anything besides what he has posted. this is it:

92 Reg Eagle Talon was having problems starting up. It would turn on weak. and the idle would be flipping out up and down. and would ususally fade to where the car halted.

Got a diagnostic. and they said ti was the Crank/Cam Position sensor. So I got that replaced. it seemed as if it did do anything. since I was unable to start my car still after doing. but after messing with it some more today. I got the car to start.

Now when it starts. it has a constant idle. which seems healthy. but soon as I press the gas, the car fades to a halt. and after it has stalled. the Tachomete flips out a lil bit. then rests at 0.

Ideas? Help!? prove yourself the master of Car Knowledge!

that is waht he wrote....anyone have any ideas so ican help this kid out?

Did you install the CAS correctly? There is a very precisice way of putting it on there. Even if you do have the gear inside positioned in the right way, you still need to have the CAS turned to a good position. If you are too far back, it retards, if you are too far forward, it advances. If I were you, check to see if your gear is in there right. Put your car at TDC, then one side of the rotor on the CAS has a groove on the end, the other is flat. If you look close to where the rotor spins, you will see a groove etched into it. The grove on the rotor needs to meet the groove on the CAS platform. Then stick it back into the head. Even if you had a shop do it for you, chances are they didn't know this crucial information. Once you get it in there, keep the CAS right in the middle. Tune from there what makes the car run smooth. Hope this helps.
