hey guys!I have a problem with a friends car. he has a 91 tsi with a starting problem.we checked for fuel, got fuel, checked for spark,we have spark, checked the fuses, fuses are good, replaced the ecu with a good one but still didnt start.we even checked the timing belt to see if it jumped a tooth but everything is ok.is there anything we are overlooking?

You need 4 things for an engine to start: spark, fuel, timing, and compression.

What does it do? Does it sputter at all? Does it try to combust? Does it just turn over like you were doing a compression check? Details.

has he recently taken his cam angle sensor off? unplug it and make sure that all the connectors made contact, if one is bent then the ecu won't get the signal that it needs...this is a simple check, hope this helps...

I had a similiar problem with mine. It turned out to be my injectors that were in need of a serios cleaning. After you checked out all the sensors and tested them, pull one of the injectors off the rail and see if they are blocked at all.

thanks allot brothas!!!!!homey has no compression...we removed the timingbelt and the crankshaft turned without any major force.and that was with all the plugs still in.you can allways count on dsmtuners!thanks allot!!!!
