Need help - camshaft sensor problem

ok, this is for a 1g NT automatic, today i was marging onto the highway and as soon as I gave it enough gas and it switched into the passing gear or what ever its called, it seemed like my engine went into neutral but it didn't die out. I pulled over and the car idled fine but wouldn't move. After I shut it off, I had problems restarting it. It'll start real ruff for a couple of seconds and then just shut off and if I try to give it gas to keep it going the engine will jerk and then stop. I got the CEL code pulled and it says that its the camshaft postion sensor. Can anyone help my figure out whats wrong? Thanks in advance.

If you got a cel for the camshaft position sensor, then check the plug and contacts to make sure they are clean. If the CEL persists then replace the sensor.
