Can a 1g knock sensor be used in a 2g? My 6-bolt doesn't have the usual spot for the 2g knock sensor so I have my choice of threaded holes either at the top of the block right under the head of much lower near the bottom of the block.

The 2g knock sensor was originally threaded into the top one (which is usually used for the 1g sensors) but I was getting phantom knock because it was picking up minor lifter tick as knock. I have since moved the 2g sensor to the bottom one but I think it is too low (below the combustion area). I have also had some cases of phantom knock with the sensor down there which is probably rod noise or something.

Will the less sensitive 1g knock sensor work in my 2g car if I put in the top hole right under the head? Will it still register REAL knock?
