oil on intake manifold

I have oil pooling up on the intake manifold right underneath the injectors. what could be the cause?

92 tsi awd

You might want to check and see if your valve cover has any cracks in it while you're at it. I've heard that an overtightened PCV valve can crack the aluminum and do the same thing.
