Transmission Grinds on cold starts?

I noticed about a month ago that when I rev the engine from under the hood, I hear a grinding for a second, and i pinpointed it to the tranny. I kind of blew it off, until lately every morning I go to start my car for work, it grinds really bad for about 1-2 seconds and stops. Anyone have any idea what this is? My buddy with a dodge neon has the same problem, he thinks it's some bearing inside the tranny.

common problem. try changing gear oil in tranny to GM syncromesh, or Penzoil Syncromesh

throw out bearing. they are noisy.
