Ok, guys, how do i know if my cyclone is working right?
im trying to run a complete ecu controlled setup.

and i know the intake starts right, i just dont know if it opens up at a certain point. any ideas on how to test this.

also, ONLY when my car is warmed up, I have idle surge, and idle is stuck at 1400 rpm at the lowest possible setting. could it be my coolant temp sensor ? which has started to flash on and off.

or is it where the coolant enteres the throttle body?

any help woudl be great,
and dont forget, 6 bolt for sale right here

Dammit, Pax, you were supposed to tell _us_ how it was working.

Get a MityVac and a gauge, put it on the actuator and see when it starts to open (close?) the butterflies. Then rig up that gauge so you can see it while driving (taped to the outside of the windshield would be okay, it's just for testing), and see if you're getting operational vacuum while driving, and then see if you feel any performance effect.

I don't know what to tell you about the wandering idle.

Did you bust something while doing the Ninja squat on the motor?

is it possible to install the Cyclone on any 4g63?can someone explain how it would hook up,do i need a different gasket?

haha, i have a boost guage, and it pulls fast to 10 psi, by like 2200 Rpm it hits 10 psi

Yeah, but you need to test if the Cyclone is working right- you want to measure the vac on the butterfly acutator itself. Of course, if it's getting boost, wouldn't that close them back up? Or is it vacuum that closes them?

the ecu controlls it.
like, when the ecu says "butterflys open" then, they open. the ecu controls the butterflys with an actuator,

at idle, i unhooked the line on the butterfly plenium thing, and i can hear them slam shut.
or is it slam open, i dont know, they are spring loaded to stay one way or the other, and at a certain rpm/boost point they open or close.

wouldnt vacuum hold them closed?
from what i heard, they are spring loaded to be open.
and the vac sucks them closed until a certain point,

plus i didnt have to hooke them up, i lef tall the hoses together and just when i dropped then engine in, with them all hooked up.

I've not had my hands on a Cyclone, but I thought you'd said you had hooked the actuator up through the EGR connection on the ECU?

Having them vacuum-closed would be the logical way to do it, but I don't know if that counts for much.
