Does backfiring do any real damge? I notice it sometimes when my bov is vented, but it is not a real loud backfire, you cant even hear it when the music is up a little. Is it normal to backfire if running a vented bov?

backfiring is not a bad thing, but it's not a good thing either. Back firing is caused by unburned fuel being ignited in your exhaust. It doesn't do any serious damage to the engine, it just means that your engine is getting too much fuel. What other mods have you done to the car?
