install hg and studs

hey could someone give me a direction on how to do this or some site with a walk through install. thanks

all it is, is bolts and removing shit....

THE HARDEST PART IS REMOVING THE TIMING BELT AND PUTTING THE "TIMING" BACK TOGETHER RIGHT..MAKE SURE U LOOK AFTER WHERE THE MARKS ARE

other than that

take the valve cover off...remove head studs...remove timing belt but loosing the tensioner and removing it from the cam gears...

take head off...replace gasket on head...use some RTV to seal it off reallll nice...make sure u clean it up if its been leaking...

ull most likely have to replace valve cover gasket too


other than that, thers just little hoses to disconnect


should take like 3 or 4 hours to do...if u keep it consitent

ok well thats what i though about the hg thing but what about the timing i dont want to screw that up thats the only thing i am worried about. my engine is in the car so how could i get my hands on all this

How bout getting a repair manual by either haynes or chilton. They tell you how to do everything. Here is a site on how to do the timing belt. They also have alot of other stuff.

make sure you have the right head studs for the year of your car .. 1990 headstud are bigger than the 1993 ones . i found out the hard way ,, and i cost me a head and turbo .. and dont try to mate a 1993 head with a 1990 block if your ussing 1990 head studs .. just a little heads up ..
