HELP!! Smoke Under Dashboard After Clutch Install!

First off I have a 1990 Tsi AWD. I just finished putting a new clutchset in it and I went to go start it up. I started it and it ran good for like 30 seconds then the rpms fluxuated a few times and the engine died,, then there was a weird buzzing sound and some smoke coming from under my dash near my ecu/fuel pump relay area, so I quickly took my key out but the buzzing and smoking didnt stop. What could it be, because now the car wont start at all, it just cranks. But im pretty sure that it is getting fuel because the sparkplug reaks of gas when pulled out. Any ideas what it could be???

Also I forgot to mentiion that the buzzing and smoking ended after like a 40 seconds or so on its own and hasnt done it since.
