Starts but doesnt Start!?

Here's all all that happened:

Timing belt broke...I removed the head, replaced the vavles, vavle seals, and put in a Cometic head gasket. I reinstalled the head, which I checked for it being warped and it was in spec. So everything is back on and installed. The timing belt is on, and all the timing marks are good...and the tension on the belt is taunt. The problem is that, after much time trying to get it to start, when it does, it will idle and rev great (5-Speed). But then I tryed to pull out and it started off great, I was letting the clutch out, and everything was going fine....then it stalled....it was almost as if I stalled it with letting the clutch out to quick. Now it doesnt want to start at all...it semms that it will start once or twice a day, then it has to sit till the next day. If you guys could give my any suggestions on this that would be of great help. Also the car has been sitting for 3 month's so can it just need to be "run" a little?

Make sure you're getting enough fuel pressure. The pump may need to be replaced. Perhaps it has some bad spots where it'll only run if it's in the righht position, or has a bad bearing. Make sure the gas is good. See what you can do.

If you're not scared of laying on your back a lil, pull the computer and check it for leaking capacitors. It's a bit of a stretch because it ran fine before all this head work I'm assuming, but it can give stalling conditions. Also, it's free and easy to check.

Yeah I am all out of ideas....you can smell the fuel, and when I can get the thing to start it stays idling for how ever long you want it to....it also revs real nice to. I am going to get it started tomorrow, letting it idle with a little rev here and there, for maybe 30 minutes, then jumping on it as soon as I pull out. I think my car just needs to be run, and I know that isnt really a answer to why its acting the way it is. But that's what you guys are here for. Also, I will check the caps, and the thing with the fiel pump, I dont know because we sprayed ether (sp?) in the trottle elbow, just to see if it wasnt getting any fuel, and it wouldnt start. Please keep the ideas coming, thanks---dave

Also, I installed ARP's while putting the head on. When installing the arp's I torque them done in the correct sequence (will torqing them in in steps)....I figure this might help anyone trying to think of an idea, of what could be going on. I doubt that it is the head, or the head gasket, just for the fact that it "will" start and it runs fine in nuetral (again a 5-Speed)...well I am going to see what happens tomorrow.--thanks again dave
