Turbo sound

just a quick question, wonderin if my turbo is gonna go in the near future.. im not sure if its a normal sound. but it sounds like a jet taking off or somethin.. somethin like rrreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. just askin cuz i ran a 16 in the 1/4 mile.. maybe its just my shitty driving.

It's hard to say from the desciption.. but my buddies car sounded like a jet and his fins were completley torn up and had bad shaft play! But we might have different thought of what a jet might sound like...

I would take the intake pipe off and check the fins and spin it... That should tell you alot

They're supposed to make that kind of noise, but if it's really loud, it can be the compressor impeller rubbing the housing (dead turbo).

Just take off the intake pipe and move the compressor blade around and see if there is any shaft play.

im surprised others havent asked this, but do you have an auto? if so the 16 could be because of the 13b as well

my car is a 5spd and i havent really checked into my turbo yet.. havent really had the time.. but it pulls well most of the time so im not too worried.. i was just pissed cuz it wasnt pullin well when i was at the track everywhere else it does
