Here's the problem, We have a 97 GST, and when you try and get on the gas it starts stuttering, or sputtering. No matter what speed or gear, if you go slowly to reach the speed, no problem, but say going 70 in 5th, then hitting the gas, it sputters bad. Any suggestions?

Duno but that sounds like my car, as long as im not pulling a steap hill or go above 3psi of boost all is well.. but the secound I do more than that.. she seems to run out of fuel.

I checked the falowing you might want to do the same.

FPR vac line
Fuel pressure solenoid vac line
Fuel filters (both the one on the pump and under the hood)
Fallowing the fuel hard line to the engine bay, looking for damage.

so far none of that has helped and I dont have the correct fiting to check my fuel pressure, but im going to try to get another stock pump tomarrow and try that. Just some sudjestions.

If it's like mine, it will rev fine. So it's not an ignition problem. And will pull hard under boost for a few secounds then runs out of fuel.

But im also missing badly under idel. So I am thinking the fuel pressure is to low...

"Does it act the same if you bypass the FPR solenoid? (Just run a vacuum line from the intake manifold directly into the port on the FPR)"

optik678 sudjested that to me, and it seriously helped. So I think the solenoid or wireing is bad.

Good luck.

check your coil pack and plug wires and plugs, mine did that i have a n/t but it did the same thing , if i floored it, it would sputter badly, it turned up i had a burned ign coil, 1 and 4 cylinders werent firing so esentially i was running on 2 cylinders, so i got a new coil pack and re did the harness and it fixed the problem

good luck:dsm:

before you do anything else make sure your spark plugs are gapped to .028, ive posted this 15-20 times now and i havent been wrong since, these cars just have a tendency to widen the gap in time, make sure you have NGK plugs too.

CHECH YOUR WIRES.
i had the same problem, reved fine with the clutch in or in nuetral and stuttered like mad when it was under load, especailly boost. i replaced my spark plug wires with accel wires, fixed the problem instantly. you could use factory wires too, i just splurged. some times in the dark you can see your wires cross arcing, if you do REPLACE THEM!. i also replaced my plugs too, runs great. i hope it is just that simple for you guys. good luck, hope my experiences help.

you are right, its .50 cause you have a N/T my bad, just check them and wires first
