timing belt tensioner

how likely is it for this part to go bad? is there any way of telling if it is bad? im trying to svae a few bucks here, and im pondering not replacing this ting. the timing belt didnt break, i am just doing it as a precautin, and my car has 100k on it now. the part isnt leaking, and it seems to compress fine. any infoon this would be greatly appreciated.

dood when it comes to the timing belt dont mess around. just buy yourself a timing belt replacement kit from reither burschur or machv and replace everything. its a bi*** to work on anyway, so you might as well do whatcha gotta do to make sure it works properly!

the kit is not really necessary, i know how it is being pressed for money, if you have to money buy the kit, if not defenetly alteast buy the tentioner, head work is expensive, i had my t-belt skip and head work is usualy not cheep.
