auto tranny problem?

in my auto nt talon, when i floor it usually in 2nd gear the rpms will fly up to like 7 or 8 and change into 3rd, but while in 2nd when its flien up i am not going faster then i was before i pushed the gas down all the way. im assuming major tranny problems?

hmmm, I dont think I understand ur question. When your flooring it thru the gears. from 2nd to 3rd. It shifts at like 8. But when you punch it from 3rd. It kicks back into 2nd, but it doesnt Feal like your going any faster then when you where floring it in 3rd?

Thats called a kick back. It shouldnt Feal like ur going Faster then before. Its only for passing. Depending on how far up the RPM range you are on 3rd, Depends on if it will Kick back for passing.
