electric problems... help!

ok here are the problems, my driver side headlight works fine but my passenger side headlight works halfway.... one bulb turns on but its only about half as bright as the driver side one, and the other bulb doesnt light up at all. People tell me its probly a bad ground somewhere, but also my white face indiglo cluster doesnt light up at all either, also it seems that my dash dimmer isnt working at all either... im guessing these are all problems that are all related to each other... my fuse box underneath has no cover so im not sure what is for what... i hope someone can help me out with this... What year and car do you have so maybe somebody can tell you which fuse is which. Or you can just check them all and replace any blown ones. If none of the fuses are blown id say you have a short somewhere.
