I have posted a question about the brake and battery light not going off. I was wondering if i reset the ECU and, or disconnect the negative battery terminal, if it could help with the battery light. and i have already checked the resiovar cap and it is on fine

Im no expert, just to let you know. For the brake, hell, I'd probably end up just cutting the wire lose and capping it off with shrink wrap or something to stop it from making sparks here and there. but, if you lift up the cup holder and cigarette holder, all your mechanics and such for your e-brake should be there, check those and see if you can find anything? The battery light usually tends not to come on when the battery is dieing. I've been told it only comes on when the altenator is not recharging. Take a volt meter to your battery. It should come out around 12 volts. Now, start the car. The volts should go up to 13+. If it goes to around 13.50 or so, you're altenator is working. If you rev around 2000+ rpms, the volts should almost break 14.

Don't cut any wires! Warning lights are there for a reason. There is probably a 99% chance that your alternator is going bad and not charging properly. This happens on almost all cars, when the alternator was dying on my old corolla the battery and brake lights came on at the same time. Colossus was on the right track, just check your battery voltage, you can get both your battery and alternator tested at many auto parts stores.

then why does the brake light and the battery light go off then i let it idle and take my foot off the clutch standing at a light, and once i get back onto the clutch and rev the engine they both go back on.
