Arrrrgggg :( I hit my gas and my boost goes up to 15, then while im holding the gas to the floor it slowly goes back down to 10 and steadys out at 10. whats up with this?! :( im reading and reading and reading and i cant find the answer. its killin me. been reading for like a week now, trying to keep from posting tons of stupid questions on this board.

*edit*
also I have the BOV dumping to the atmosphere cuz i got tired of the stupid whistling sound my turboxs made (suckass) and i liked the hissing sound better. so what its for show LOL stilll. and I capped off the 1 inch hole to the air intake that is after the MAS.

Also 1 more question to whoever who views this:

In the morning when I start my car, my oil pressure steadys out at 75, and while I drive it, it shoots up to 100 easily like in 2,000 rpm, but after about 20min of driving it, it steadys out at 50, but when I idle it steadys out at 25, and when I drive it around 2,500-3,000rpm it shoots up to 100. :( any ideas?

Stop venting. Turbo XS(s) leak if you bought the flange kit.

Dont worry, mine does the same thing. Do you have a Boost Controller? I have the Dejon Tool 2 Stage MBC and it has to be PERFECTLY straight up and down to run correctly. I figured this out the hard way, listening to the vacume coming from inbetween two hoses while the car is at idle. It stopped when I leveled the Boost Controller out.

Secondly, I vented to the atmosphere with the Turbo Xs HFL, and loved the sound, but it cause my CEL to come on, and run ruch between shifts. I had to swap it out for a 1st gen.

I have the boost decline problem too. I have spoken with some people that do performance work on Eclipse's, and they reccomend checking all you hoses for cracks or leaks. Check to see if the boost spikes when you stomp on it. I have my boost controller set to 11 psi and 15 psi, but when it is set to 15 and i punch it, it spikes to like 24 psi then settles around 15 or so. Same thing when it is set to 11 psi, spiking at 15 or so.

Like I was told to do, check all of your hoses. If you find out the problem is something else, let me know because i need help too!

Thanks & Good Luck,

Jeff

I have some generic manual boost controller its like a brass lookn thing w/ a screw on the end. the tubing is very short sitting almost next to the turbo, i think maybe 5 inches of tubing from turbo to MBC, and maybe 3 from MBC to WG.

Mine runs BOTH rich and lean at serious amounts. and Ive noticed this venting made my car run a bit ruffer too...

Yes it spikes just as much as you, and I have a boost leak near the thing u pull on to make your car rev up by the EGR valve. Any Idea how to fix that kinda boost leak too?

#1 I'm assuming you are still running the stock T25 turbo? If so it is normal for this tiny turbo to drop down to about 10 or 11 psi at high rpms.
#2 If you are venting your bov then don't complain about the results, just read the other 3,200,404,483 posts on here about the effects of venting. Just don't vent unless you want to deal with the probs!
#3 Sounds like you have the normal oil pressure fluctuation probs of a DSM, I'm assuming you must have a real oil pressure gauge and not just the stock one since you are giving actual numbers, right?

Blah, Yea this chick who has a TurboXS w/ a horn on it vents to atmosphere, but she has a S-FAC2 (sp?) and I guess thats keeping her idle from screwing up. :(

yes i do have a real oil pressure guage. My friend told me to put 15/50 performance oil in my car, any pros and cons to that? should I ditch my 10w-30 and put that in?

ok i have the same problem or had the same

make sure u use NGK wires and plugs...if ur using bosch ur slowing creating a hole through ur piston head...but dont be alarmed it would take a million miles to get all the way through

dont use anything under 93 octane...

change ur fuel filter

and if ur runnin stock exhaust with 15psi....shame on u

just too much backpressure to hold it and ur cat is most likely clogging

1. You mean a 14b.
2. SAFC 1 or 2 or the old style have NOTHING TO DO WITH VENTING.
3. I run 15/50 and have no oil related problems.

P.S. Hopfully by monday I'll have a 1st gen intake manifold w/ most the parts needed to swap and have it on later that week. maybe that'll help too?

Think of "boost" as "too much intake for the engine to use". As the engine speed increases, you're usually bound to have a decrease in boost because you're running more air through the engine.

And put your recirc tube back where Mits intended.
