Okay I am at a total loss here.
After having to replace my original 95 Tsi Awd motor after a broken timing belt, the replacement motor is acting up.
The problem existed before I replaced stock intake with Ingen pipe and filter but happens more frequently now. The plug wires are new and plugs are new.
The problem mostly occurs on the highway at cruising above 65mph and has occurred on humid days after raining.
My Talon will just start running "rough." There is no other way to describe it. Almost like when you are trying to accelerate when the plug wires are going bad but it is at cruising speed. It will accelerate but almost like I am running on 3 cylinders. The CEL would come on and reset itself after a couple of "in-town" drives but now remains on continually.
Any suggestions? I went to local Chrysler dealer....$82 just to read the code and a 1 week wait. My build date on the car was 09/94...is the wiring harness capable of supporting the code readers like they use at autozone to find out what the code is? I am beginning to think it is a lost cause at this point but want to avoid doing any engine damage at theis point.
Thanks in advance.
