Replaced blown turbo, car smokes when started up

Just wondering how long its going to keep smoking? I know many people here have replaced blown turbos. There was some oil in the intercooler lines when I pulled my turbo off. Im pretty certain the smoking is just the left over oil in the lines.

Other than the smoking when you start it up (After it sits for a while) it doesnt smoke enough for me too notice while driving. I havent really driven it hard yet because the engine was rebuilt 100 miles ago. The car runs perfect otherwise.

Mine smoked a good 4-5 days. The oil is in the downpipe, not the i/c lines which is causing the smoke.

Oh well I felt the inside of the IC pipe that goes to the turbo and it had a thin layer of oil on it.

My turbo was trashed when my balance shaft belt broke. The fins were all broken on the edges.

Did you take off the intercooler and pour all the oil out? Mine had about a quart in it.

I just replaced a junk turbo on my car, and I also found at LEAST a half quart of oil in the intercooler. I would say you may want to empty yours out, or you may be blowing smoke for while!
