I have recently test drove a 95 Eagle Talon and I have a few questions:

It burns oil, and it comes out the exhaust. It has 130,000 miles on it and i was wonderin if this is somewhat common with the engine. I was also wondering if an oil and an additive would make the difference or it needs new piston rings.

Second, the anti-lock brake check light is on and is wont go off. Will replacing the pads help or is it a different prob.

Other than that it seems like a solid vehicle, and would like to be its proud owner. Thanks in advance for any help.

-Burning oil could be valve seals (16 seals) or rings, do a compression test, I don't know the exact minimum for a 95's but for mine minimun is 114 psi on stock piston, different between 2 piston should not over 14 psi, after the dry test, pour some oil into the combustion chamber to see if the # increase, if the # rise, the motor has worn rings, if the # stay the same as the dry test, valve seals are worn, leaking oil into the combustion chamber, this is easy fix.

-As for the ABS light, make sure 4 tires are same circumference size or relatively close in size, I'm not sure worn brake pad can trip the ABS light, could be bad sensor on the spindle, dirty optical disc, bad computer..... is the car's interior strip?

-P.S. do a search on "crank walk".
-September's Grass Root Motor Sport magazine has a nice article on DSM.
