Oil Pressure and Sending Unit

I just noticed my oil pressure guage was reading nothing today. I did a search on it and came up with the "sending unit" as a likely cause of this.

So, where is that? What does it look like? People said cleaning it out, reattaching it and or replacing it has solved that problem. I just need to find it.

Any ideas, tips on finding it, and fixing it would help me.

I've had the car a month and am not much of a mechanic but it doesn't sound hard.

And if it isn't that, what else could be the problem?

Right under the oil pump, on the right-front of the engine- by the oil filter. Pure gravy, use a bit of teflon tape on the new one.
If that's not the problem, it's probably something else. cough.

It's a common problem that the wire connector comes off the sender unit. Check that!! cough, cough.

Right front...... Isn't it the left front? Anyway, it's under the oil filter area!
