I think my AC compressor is SICK

I think my AC compressor is sick...its making a horrible noise....like hmm..a whineing(spelling?) noise. But yea it sounds horrible but my AC still works....is it time for me to get a new AC compressor? If so, what price do those run for?

i have the same problem. ac still works just whines alot. mines been bad for about 4 months now but still works. Its probably not your compressor thats bad, its the AC clutch assembly. Same thing with my car. I got quotes from mitsubishi $480 for AC clutch assembly.
