what is the purpose of going with a colder plug? Also my car is boosting 14psi from a FP T28 and minorly backfiring. just replaced the plugs with new ones 10k ago. will loweringor highering the temp on the plug help?

A spark plug has to reach a certain temp in order to stay clean. At that temp it will burn off any harmful deposits/carbon. Since your car is not running high boost, I would run a NGK BPR-6ES copper core plug as Defiant suggested. A colder plug in your car will NOT reach sufficient temps to keep itself clean. Resulting in a fouled out dirty plug.

If you were running HIGHER boost levels it is a good idea to get a cooler plug to help prevent Pre-ignition. Which can be caused by a super hot plug igniting the fuel mixture early, due to HIGH compression/boost and a red hot spark plug tip. So By cooling the plug down you lessen the chance of doing damage to the engine.

Is there such a word as HIGHERING hahahaha.

Don't forget to change or check the wires!
 
What type of plugs are you running? ie are you running the recommend "cheepo" copper plugs as mentioned above or are your running a "fancy" (ie platinum, ie crap for our cars) plug? If your running platinum, it very common to have miss fire issues.
