hey im pretty new to the whole DSM world, anyways, i just got a 95 gsx and i have a 1g head that just got built, and i just bolted it up, i got the t-stat housing on the water pipe and all the other good stuff. The problem i am havin is with the CAS i have a green top and i dont know how to hook it up because the plugs r diff. I call RRE to buy their harness and they told me i dont need it for what i am doing, but the plug from the CAS is diff from the one in the 2g. Any pointers, or just send me in the right direction. Thanks alot for dealin with the newbie...

I acctually dont have the 7 bolt cas i bought the eclipse already in the swap process, thats why i have a green top, which cas should i look for. I am not sure on the differences between the 1g and 2g cas's. thanx

What Mitsu_Matt was trying to say is that you need one or the other. If you're going to do a 6 bolt head w/ a 7 bolt block, you need to do a 95-96 cam sensor. If you're going to do a complete 6 bolt swap, you ONLY need the green top CAS that you have. Reason for this is because the 95-96 crank sensor and cam sensor together are the same function as using that green top CAS that you have. The ECU reads cam signal on the 1st generation eclipses to control timing and fuel injection while on the 2nd generations the ECU uses the Crank AND Cam signal to control timing and fuel injection. Road Race sells that conversion harness to those whom want to do a 6 bolt swap into a 2nd generation shell so that people like me (lazy people) do not have to splice wires in order to connect the 1st generation Cam Sensors into 2nd generation cam and crank sensor plugs. If you need more help, i live less than 20 mins away from you think. I can probable help you out if you need it.

Ok, so i should be good to go, if i buy the harness from them? sorry, i bought the car in peices, and not knowing to much about dsm's, its just really confusing to me with the wiring issues (not even knowing how it looked stock). thanks for the help.

As far as taping the 2g cas to the 1g head, what does that consit of doing, is it hard. and i got the car with the 1g head only with the 1g cas, so how do i know what cas is from a 2g, the one i have is a green top (metal) with the long harness. thanx for the help -Kyle
