oil in coolant

I have a 1992 Eagle talon TSi, i've done 3 rebuilds on it it, but yet i think its time i might have to do another one. This recent rebuild i got a bran new head, multilayerd head gasket, APR head studs and i checked for a warped block with a straight edge, it was warped between the 3rd cylinder and 4th. I got that fixed and check everything over a second time and thought it would be good to go ahead and put everything together. After everything is together, it had no problems starting or running. I pur 600 miles on the new head and only had one problem, i had an oil leak from the oil line from turbo to oil pan. I fixed that put about 50 miles on it. The next day was the day i leave for Phoenix Arizona for UTI. Its a 1400 Mile drive.. But getting to the point, about 100 miles after leaving the house i smelt coolant, i got out and checked around to notice a loose clamp. I fixed this and started to pull out of the gas station, temperature on the car was fine, the car started to stumble and smoke started to rise around the car seeming to be comming out from the engine bay, i backed up and turned it off and popped the hood, i seen NOTHING, no leaks, nothing. Started it back up and no smoke or stumbling. We took off, about a 100 miles later of driving about 75 or 80 mph constant the car started to climb in temperature, it got to 210 and i shut it off. I figured it was from loosing a little coolant back at the gas station. So i bought some more 50/50 mix, added to it, wich it was low, and took of agian. About 200 miles later it started to overhead agian, i had to add more coolant, about another 100 miles it did it agian. I sayed SCREW it and went to the nearest NAPA store and removed my thermostat, replaced the gasket and took off. The car ran about 160 for about 100 miles and started to overheat agian. Thus agian having to add coolant. Throughout the trip this becomes neccsary for every 100 miles, and when night comes it was really cool outside, we made it over 300 miles before it overheated. The fans are kicking on, i sat there tell they did. about 500 miles from are destination i begun to reconize OIL in the coolant, and the water in the overflow box would be white. So i checked the oil, it was low. Then about every 80 miles in the heat of the day it would over heat and i would have to add oil and antifreeze. There is NO water in the oil at all, it doesnt make sense. NO way could it be a head gasket.... I was reading up and thought it could be oil cooler, or turbo. But they doesnt explain the overheating. All the water is going out the overflow box. I take the cap off the raditor when it is running and no water flys out. Im hoping its not a head gasket... Sorry for the long story, but thought it was applicable for what kind of problems i was having with this car. Thanks...

Just because you can't see the leak doesn't mean there ISN'T one. Most likely it could be a pinhole leak in a radiator hose, or a more likely candidate would be one of the hoses running from the thermostat housing to the heater core. Check the hoses, especially around where you clamp them. If the hoses are old the clamps could have made a small cut, and then it will just slowly leak out.

You say you noticed oil in the water.....did you notice it just once, or did it keep coming back?

Ok, more news... I did a compression check today and i got 150 150 150 152 all the way accross, did it many times and same results. That doesnt seem like a leaking head gasket to me. The oil could be getting into the coolant through the oil cooler coudlnt it? Or where else could it be getting in from? If thats the case then why would it still be overheating?
